Caleb Mission Newsletter 💌 The Second Week of December

Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace is with you. I believe that many people are feeling heavy-hearted due to the current situation in Korea. We must first pray for our country and its people. Please join us in praying that North Korea does not take advantage of the recent chaos in South Korea to make a poor decision.

We are making tireless efforts to rescue North Korean sisters around Christmas. However, an unexpected martial law was imposed in South Korea,

These sisters are in an incredibly painful situation, leading them to distrust others even more. When they hear that a rescue would occur without any compensation, they fear being sold elsewhere. Alongside the fear of being caught during their escape and being sent back to North Korea—which would likely mean death for them—they are also afraid of reports suggesting that the situation in South Korea is deteriorating. They worry that conditions in South Korea might be worse than hiding in China. Please join us in praying for the relief of these sisters' suffering.

Please keep me in your prayers. It's been 17 years since my neck surgery, and I'm in pain now due to deteriorating cartilage and distorted bones. I’m considering repeat surgery, but it requires six months of bed rest, which is difficult with my commitments for next year.

Instead of focusing on my well-being, I am committed to rescuing North Korean defectors and sharing the gospel with them until my last day. I humbly ask for your prayers as I strive to save at least one more life, spread the gospel, and establish them as leaders of North Korea mission.

I have some happy news to share: I visited Hanawon, a government facility, to lead Sunday worship for North Korean escapees who recently arrived in Korea. The officials in Hanawon told me that North Koreans rescued by Caleb Mission understand the Bible well and are living exemplary lives.

Visiting Hanawon was challenging, especially preparing gifts for the 60 North Korean escapees. Despite the difficulties, I returned joyfully. This was all made possible through your efforts, prayers, and support. I sincerely hope that this ministry continues to be guided by God.

In difficult times, seeking God is essential. The darker our challenges, the closer we come to dawn. Let us pray for the swift unification of North and South Korea through the gospel. Thank you.

1. God, please let those who pray for the unification of North and South Korea through the gospel arise.

2. God, please help us overcome the difficult times in South Korea and share love and peace through Jesus.

3. God, please ensure the safety of North Korean defectors in China and protect the missionaries assisting them.

In Jesus' Name, Amen
